Union Mills models follow a similar tender drive arrangement. It is usually possible to fit a small decoder inside the tender, however where this is not possible, the decoder can be hidden in the cab. It is technically possible to mill out some of the metal from the tender to create space, however this reduces weight and traction.

There isn't enough room in the tender to a decoder without milling out some of the metal, instead of doing this we hide the decoder on the footplate out of sight. Follow the Union Mills J39 guide for detailed conversion instructions, as the steps are exactly the same.
