This guide shows how to install DCC sound into the Dapol N Gauge Class 142 'Pacer' DMU models, including:

The speaker and sound decoder are installed in the dummy car. For the optimal experience, we recommend also installing a decoder in the motorized car that is syncronized with the sound decoder.

Step 1 - Remove body

Remove the body by turning the unit upside down and unclipping the front where the plastic tapers inwards.

Step 2 - Modify Decoder PCB

Undo the two screws holding the decoder PCB in place. Turn the PCB upside down and solder two brown wires to the solder pads marked 'Speaker +' (S+) and 'Speaker -' (S-).
